At the Bodaboda Safety Association of Uganda, we believe in effective leadership that represents the diverse regions and districts across the country. Our leadership structure is designed to ensure accountability, efficiency, and adherence to government regulations.
National Executive:
- Chairman: The national chairman provides visionary leadership and oversees the strategic direction of the association.
- Deputy Chairman: Assists the chairman in fulfilling his duties and assumes leadership responsibilities in his absence.
- Secretary: Responsible for coordinating communications, meetings, and administrative tasks of the association.
- Treasurer: Manages the financial affairs of the association, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial matters.
Regional Representation: Leadership positions within the association will be filled by individuals from various regions across Uganda. This ensures that the interests and concerns of bodaboda riders from different areas are adequately represented at the national level.
National Board: Comprising district officials, the national board plays a crucial role in decision-making and policy formulation. District officials are responsible for representing the needs and concerns of bodaboda riders within their respective districts.
Collaboration with Government: In districts where leadership structures are lacking, we will collaborate closely with the government to establish leaders who adhere to national laws and regulations. This partnership ensures that our activities align with government policies and contribute positively to the development of the bodaboda sector.
Inspiration from Kenya: Drawing inspiration from the successful model implemented in Kenya, where the government collaborates closely with the bodaboda sector, we aim to replicate this approach in Uganda. We are open to learning from experienced leaders like Kevin Bwire Mubadi, the national chairman of bodaboda in Kenya, to guide us in establishing effective structures and providing valuable insights.
At BSAU, we are committed to fostering strong leadership, promoting collaboration with government agencies, and ultimately improving the welfare and safety of bodaboda riders across Uganda.
